A sermon preach'd before the House of Lords, in the Abby-Church of Westminster, On Wednesday, February 4th, 1740. Being the Day appointed by His Majesty for a General Fast and Humiliation to be observed in a most Solemn and Devout Manner, for obtaining the Pardon of our Sins, and imploring the Divine Blessing and Assistance on the Arms of His Majesty, and for restoring and perpetuating Peace, Safety, and Prosperity to Himself and to His Kingdoms.
