P53 has been identified recently as the most frequently mutated gene in cancer. This gene is called the guardian angel gene because it has a special protein called P53, which is capable of destroying cancer cells and stopping them multiplying. The programme explains how P53 works, as well as reporting on research into E6 and MDM2 gene therapy.
