Description
The Fight against Cancer: An appeal by Margaret Leighton, 1959. Sealed Fund-raising appeal for the British Empire Cancer Campaign's research programme, made by 1940s/50s British film star Margaret Leighton (complete with pearls and fur stole) for screening in public cinemas. Filmed in the former St. George's Hospital building, Hyde Park Corner, London (now the Lanesborough Hotel); shows maternity wards, radiotherapy department, electron microscope, X-Ray machines.
