Description
Chinese woodcut illustration from a edition of 1616 (44th year of Wanli reign period of the Ming dynasty), showing the locations for examining the taixi and chongyang pulses. The taixi pulse is the arterial pulse that can be felt in the depression on the heelbone behind the internal malleolus (neihuai), while the chongyang pulse is the arterial pulse that can be felt in the arch of the foot. They are examined to determine the state of Kidney Qi and Stomach Qi respectively.
