Description

An auctioneer raises his hammer as he stands on a podium, with the lettering 'Now selling by auction at ye Ass in ye Lions Skin in Little Britain all the valuable effects of John Bull...' Below him a man sits at a table collecting auction proceedings. To his immediate right a man with a moustache urges the money collector to drop the price. Further right stands a jester and a man at the door announcing the auction. To the left a woman wearing a crown sits before four standing men. In the foreground a man sits on the floor complaining that his sale will not make much money. The lots are displayed in the background on a wall.
