About this work

Description

An eye of a four day-old zebrafish embryo with the lens red from a reporter transgene inserted using the gene editing tool Crispr/Cas9. The transgene is also expressed in the cells of developing neuromasts. Sensory neuromast cells of the zebrafish lateral line and ear detect vibrations in the water. Immunolabelling for acetylated tubulin (cyan) marks the neuronal tracts.

Confocal micrograph. Width of image is 500 micrometres.
