Description
Photograph of three statues of St Lucy (283-304), Ferdinand III of Castile (c.1199-1252) and an unknown male saint.
St Lucy is invoked against diseases of the eyes, haemorrhage and throat infections. The statue was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1931 and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R596/1938) but is not held by Wellcome Collection.
The statue of Ferdinand item was purchased by the Museum in 1935 and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R4839/1937) but is not held by Wellcome Collection.
The statue of the unknown saint was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R4844/1937) but is not held by Wellcome Collection.
