MS inscription on t.p.: 'Given me by ye. Reverend Dr. John Tillotson for a remembrance of John Ld. Bp. of Chester. R. Hooke Oct. 8 1673' [Robert Hooke (1635-1703)]. John Tillotson (1630-94), afterwards Archbishop of Canterbury, was Wilkins's executor. The volume was lot 196 in the sale of Hooke's library; see also his diary for 8 Oct. 1673.
