The work by Guinterius was first published in 1536, in Paris and in Basel, under title: Institutionum anatomicarum ... libri quatuor. A second edition, revised by A. Vesalius, appeared in Venice in 1538. The third edition, of which the present work is a reprint, was revised by the author and given a new dedication containing an added tribute to Vesalius; it was first published in Basel in 1539. Cf.
