About this work

Description

False-coloured scanning electron micrograph of raw ginger. Raw ginger flesh reveals a natural, hollow honeycomb pattern seen here together with small round cells of yeast. Width of image is 370 micrometres. These drawings form part of a series of work "Raw to Processed" which considers food and its relationship to health, looking at patterns in the structure of food and how these change when food is processed.
