    been advised that the said undertaking would be more effectually prosecuted, and complete success therein sooner attained, if they were protected by our royal sanction, by means of a royal charter of incorporation. And the said petitioners most humbly supplicated us to grant to them and to the other persons who had already subscribed or should there- after subscribe any sum or sums of money towards the said undertaking, oiir royal charter of incorpora- tion for the piu’pose aforesaid, rmder such regula- tions and restrictions as to us might seem right and expedient.
