Description

Privilegium in arte aromataria: granted by the 'Justitiarii Veteres' of the Republic of Venice; with a License to Practice from the 'Collegium Pharmacopolarum' Title in gold within decorated panel in gold and colours: on the verso Christ seated upon a cloud blessing the world, within a floreated border. On fol. 2 a figure of Justice upon a throne, within a similar border: on the verso, the Lion of St. Mark above four blazoned coats of arms. On the verso of the fourth leaf the blazoned arms of the eight Venetian Apothecaries. On the verso of the last leaf, the blazoned coat of arms of Calegari. Text within gold and black rules, and partly written in gold. The first part is signed on fol. 4 by Angelo Bembo, Gabriel Trevisan, Ruberto Valier, and Florian Coletti. The second part is signed by the eight heads of the Venetian Apothecaries: Marcus Antonius Zopelli, Joannes Baptista Anselmi, Franciscus Bigoni, Dominicus Vinzenti, Franciscus Fantuzzi, Nicolaus Mattheus. On the verso of the last leaf are endorsements: 1784 Treviso, signed by Rugger Ruggeri; and 1786, signed by Tomaso Tronconi. Produced in Venice.
