Description
This video tape contains two programmes. The first is part of the Windrush Series, for BBC. Karlene Davis talks about her career in nursing, starting in the 1960's when she arrived in England to begin training as a nurse, up to the present day, to her position as Leader of The Royal College of Midwives. The second programme follows the work of a Japanese team of scientists, who are trying to find and retrieve a male mammoth in Siberia. The team need a male mammoth to enable them to extract the DNA, and if possible, sperm. The programme also examines some of the theories of how and why the mammoth became extinct.
