D. Iohannes Maius, Romhilda fr. physicus patriae dein Coburgi ordinarius, pie obiit LX Iunii a.o. Chri MDCLXXI aetat. 79. Titan Maius erat tenebras depellere gnarus / Morborum Hippocrates atq[ue] Galenus erat. / Si foret, è superis quem ducere sedibus aequum / Hunc foret ut miseris ferre valeret opem. / Vitam huic in coelis summi dat dextra perennem / Per nos in terris fama perennis erit. / R. S. E. adjecit Joh. Christophorus Seldius, D. Diess ist der berühmte Man der hier stehet eingeetzt / Dessen gute Medicin würcklich über funffzig Jahr / Viele Armen Hülff und Trost und der Kranckenrettung war. / Nun hat Fama dessen Lob über Neid und Zeit gesetzet. Verfertigets der Andam Johann Jacob Gihnlein F. S. Consist. Secr. David Hornung pinxit J. Sandrart sculpsit.
