I sent a copy to Rodley in New Zealand a few weeks ago and also one to Sasisekharan but as yet I have had no comment from either of them. It would not surprise me if they failEëd to see the force of our arguments. By all means, discuss it with Sasisekharan when you see him. I think Wang's recent work, which should appear in PNAS shortly, makes nonsense of any side-by-side model, quite apart from the earlier evidence which is itself almost impassible to refute. It is nice of you to suggest I visit you in India in 1980. Both Odile and I are very tempted by this but there are a whole series of difficulties. Firstly, as a general rule, I am trying to travel as little as possible and, if I do, only rather short distances, with the exception of our summer trip to Europe. Then I think I can only come as far as Inâia in a year in which I don't make an extended visit to Cambridge and for this raason I doubt very much whether I could come in 1980, though 1981 might just be possible. Finally when we do travel we usually prefer to do so in the summer but I realize that a visit to India is exceptional.
