    referred to.1 I have now, therefore, published these details in full, in the hope that they may be found useful to those who may hereafter have the opportunity of in- vestigating this subject. It seemed to me, moreover, that these papers served each one to add to the value of the other, and that taken together they might be considered as illustrating the general subject of the reparative process in tendons after division by subcutaneous and open wound. I have now also added a series of seven lithograph plates, selected from the drawings which were exhibited to the Medical and Chirurgical Society, but none of which were published by the Society in their £ Transactions.' These drawings were for the most part made by Mr. G.
