This text was composed in the Yuan period (1206-1368). The illustration shown here is taken from an edition of 1515 (10th year of the Zhengde reign period of the Ming dynasty). It depicts a man's head from the front view. His hair is fastened in a lotus-shaped bun on the top of his head. The hair and the collar of his clothing are shown in solid black; the rest of the head is sketched in ink and brush style. The names of the acu-moxa locations are inscribed in two-character columns in the corresponding locations on the face and head. (See 'Lettering' for list of point names).
