About this work

Description

The gouty man on the left says: "Come let us dance about, burn the crutches, hang the gout, now for love's sweet revel rout, we'll kiss the lasses round, sport and play - night and day, heedless what the grave ones say; cheery, merry, lie down derry! Let love and wine abound!" The other replies: "Bravo! Bravo! Doctor! Confusion to crutches, flannel, water gruel and old nurses!!"
