    Befides the narrative of the rife and progrels of the diforder, and the defcription of i^s fymptoms and treatment, this account con- tains alfo a detail of the methods which were fuccefsfully employed in that city for check- ing and totally extinguiihing the contagion ; and in particular a detail of the means by which a large edifice, fituated in the centre of Mofcow, and containing about one thou-- fand four hundred perfons, was prefervecj from the peftilence during the whole of the time that it raged there.
