About this work

Description

The centaur holds in his hands a dead hare and a club, while Cupid rides on his back. Apparently a fanciful variation on the statue of the centaur with a Cupid formerly in Villa Borghese, Rome, latterly in the Louvre (Haskell and Penny loc. cit.)
