RNAi conference : / genetic histories.

The programme contains two items, the first of which is on recent scientific work to uncover our genetic histories. The 19th and 20th July are National Archeology days and Cooper meets Professor Goldstein from UCL who will be sampling DNA from 250 Londoners visiting the 'Excavate Yourself' event at the Museum of London. The second item on the programme is on 'RNA interference' (RNAi), an aspect of our immune system which has only recently been discovered and is currently being researced for medical purposes. The programme looks at RNAi based drugs and examines how they might revolutionise the treatment of diseases such as Aids and cancer.
