About this work

Description

Albion Mills was a complex of corn-mills built in Southwark in 1786. The mills were driven by an advanced steam engine and machinery designed by James Watt and Matthew Boulton. The destruction of the building by fire in 1791 put an end to Albion Mills' monopoly and was therefore celebrated by competitors
