    Provisional Specification. A.D. 1872.—N° 3128. 3 Jones 8f Wyatt's Improvements in Bath Apparatus. If required, the patient may he supported within the heated chamber upon *a sheet of webbing or other suitable material, so that the heated air or vapour may circulate around the body whilst under treatment. 5 When the flexible pipe attached to the cover and water chamber is disconnected the aperture serves as a vent to the heated interior of the apparatus, the temperature of which is indicated by a thermometer attached thereto, the temperature being regulated by the supply of gas to the burner or heat to the bath. 10 The frame is so arranged as to be placed when required upon a level with the bed of the patient, in order to move the patient on to or from the apparatus readily; and the parts are so constructed as to be readily separated and packed up in a comparatively small compass for removal from place to place as required. 15 Electrical, galvanic, or magnetic apparatus or appliances may be arranged in combination with the apparatus for the purpose of operating upon the patient therewith whilst under treatment. If required, the apparatus can be so arranged that a patient or user can when sufficiently strong employ the apparatus without the aid of 20 an attendant. In cases where it is difficult or ‘ impossible to remove the patient from a bed to the apparatus, then similar apparatus is arranged for subjecting the patient to the action of hot air, vapour, or medicated vapour, the apparatus being so arranged as to be placed over the 25 patient and put into operation whilst the patient is lying in bed, hot air being introduced into the chamber thus formed over the patient, and vapour generated therein, as previously described. SPECIFICATION in pursuance of the conditions of the Letters Patent, filed by the said David Jones and William Patch Wyatt in the Great Seal Patent Office on the 23rd April 1873.
