About this work

Description

Libri tres de occulta philosophia, et omnia alia opuscula ejusdem Auctoris et aliorum. Additur Eptameron magicum Petri Apponi [sic]. Fideliter transcripta. Illustrated with numerous pen-drawn sigils, diagrams, etc. Besides the main work by Agrippa, the MS. contains also his 'In geomanticam disciplinam lectura', after which is the pseudonymous fourth book of the 'Occult Philosophy', 'De ceremoniis magicis'. The works of Agrippa are followed by: Petrus de Abano. Heptameron, seu elementa magica. Pictorius Villinganus (Georgius). De speciebus magiae ceremonialis quam goetiam vocant epitome. Plinius Secundus (Caius). Libri XXX, Capitulum I et II. Naturalis Historiae: De arte magica. [Anon.] De fascinationibus disputatio. Gerardus Cremonensis. Geomantiae astronomicae libellus. Arbatel de magia seu pneumatica Veterum. These works are all printed in the collected edition of Agrippa's works, published at Lyons 'apud Beringos fratres' and undated, but probably c. 1565. This MS is a transcript of most of the first volume of that edition.
