    PREPACE At the forty-eighth meeting of the Army Medical Advisory Board, on July 23, 1903, it was decided to appoint a Sub-Committee to consider the question of the treatment of Venereal Disease in the Army. This Committee collected information from a con- siderable number of sources, statistical and other- wise, and at the same time propounded a series of questions, on the subject chiefly of diagnosis and treatment, to various acknowledged experts in this country, and to medical officers of experience, who were known to have paid particular attention to the subject of Venereal Disease,in the Army. At the same time Captain (now Major) C. E. Pollock, R.A.M.C., was deputed to visit various hospitals, both civil and military, on the Continent, with a view to collecting the latest intelligence as to the practice of experts abroad. Vi
