About this work

Description

Aesculapius theoricus practicus, sive medicina theorica practica ad recentiorem mentem accomodata. At the end of text the scribe writes 'Non perfecit Auctor omnimodas morborum tractationes tum quia plurimis semper egris Medicus presto adesse compellebatur, ut vix vacare scribendo posset, tum quia reliquos paucos tractatus mors, licet ['jam' inserted] non multis immatura praeripuit'. Perhaps a student's notes of lectures: the MS. is divided into 4 Tractatus: (1) De febribus (ff. 1-77); (2) De affectibus capitis (ff. 78-156); (3) De morbis thoracis (ff. 156-184); (4) De morbis ventris inferioris (ff. 184-end). Produced in Venice?
