Description
Wellington flees from the chaos trampling on a prostrate bishop. Behind Wellington is Baron Lyndhurst, then Lord Chancellor, who clutches the gown of the fleeing Archbishop of Canterbury. Numerous other figures, oppenents of reform, are drowning in the water
On the protracted Reform crisis of 1831-2 which the Duke of Wellington and his party opposed, despite which the revised bill was passed in April 1832
