Description
Woodcut illustrating the 17th century text Xu Ping waike zhengzong (Orthodox Manual of External Medicine with Commentary by Xu Dachun), from an edition published in 1860 (10th year of the Xianfeng reign period of the Qing dynasty).
Right-hand illustration:
The illustration shows the disease location for longquan ju (Dragon Fountain abscess) and huxi du (Tiger's Whisker poisoning). The former occurs at the renzhong (Man's Middle) point, in the philtrum; and the latter on the chin.Left-hand illustration:
The illustration shows the disease location for pi (lumps, tumours) of the heart, liver, spleen, kidney, intestine, etc. All positions are approximate.Lettering
