Description

The "iron coffin of Lissa" is an instrument to prolong capital punishment, its implementation is referred to as "killing by inches": the prisoner was laid in the coffin and saw the iron lid creep slowly, until, after lingering days and nights in suspense, the prisoner was slowly crushed by the iron lid pressing on him
