This self-portrait is the first in a series by Kia LaBeija, exploring her experience of growing up HIV positive. LaBeija has described how, “I took it in my childhood bedroom when I was dealing with a lot of trauma and stigma stemming from my HIV-positive status…The little details in the photo are my favourite.
