Description
Tractatus de Ortu et Interitu. De anima [Incomplete]. Usages de l'analemme. Selectarum insolentiumque dictionum collectio: a Latin-French glossary. Frequentiorum apud Philosophos terminorum ... collectio. Transcript of an 'Inspeximus' deed of 1332. The work on the Analemme (Planisphere) is illustrated with pen-drawn diagrams, etc. Contents: (1) Tractatus de Ortu et Interitu [Aristotelis] (36 ll.); (2) Compendiosa Ethicorum veritatis disquisitio. Pars 6a De anima [Aristotelis] [Incomplete] (ll. 37-59 + 8 bl. ll.); (3) Usages de l'analemme (ll. 68-111 + 4 bl. ll.); (4) Selectarum insolentiumque dictionum collectio (ll. 116-159 + 1 bl. l.); (5) Frequentiorum apud Philosophos terminorum utilissima brevisque collectio (ll. 161-169); (6) Transcrition [sic] du 12 septembre 1332. Original déposé à la préfecture de Macon (ll. 170-174). The writer's signature is found on the last leaf of the tract on the Analemme, the next leaf contains his pen-drawn coat of arms. The script is of the mid-19th cent. The Deed concerns an Agreement made between Aymon de Savoie [1291-1343] and Jean de Salignac, Bishop of Macon in respect of certain landed property.

Biographical note
The transcript of the deed is perhaps by the Jean de Valois who has written 'Ex libris Johannis Valesii' on the inside of the upper cover, and again, with the addition of 'J. de Valois' on the verso of leaf *60.
