About this work

Description

This image shows a man made out of various bits of metal. Central to the image is a gold mechanical heart, which is connected to various parts of musical instruments. It shows the workings of the heart and the body as pre-electrical machines that have an elegance and beauty in the way they are made and maintained. This image was created from photographs of brass intruments like trumpets and collaged together digitally, the heart and face was originally a pencil drawing that was textured up and painted via computer.
