Description

US educational film discussing the features of sickle cell disease, its history, and genetic basis and pattern of inheritance. The film follows a couple expecting their first child who undergo genetic testing followed by genetic counselling when they are both found to be carriers of sickle cell trait. They discuss the probability of having a child with sickle cell disease and their choices, and the film goes on to look at the possibilities for a cure.
