These items were received from the niece of the above, Miss E. Waller, in September 1986 and October 1987.

Biographical note

Wathen Ernest Waller, MD, MRCP Surgeon-Captain RAMC (d.1958) qualified in medicine 1912 practised in Oxford and then held a resident appointment at St George's Hospital London. Served in the RAMC in the Iraq Campaign, returned to Oxford, and practised there until around 1926, when he moved to Rustington where he remained in practice for the rest of his life. Miss Waller was association with the Red Cross and served as a nurse in the Voluntary Aid Detachment (VAD).
