The nature, necessity and advantage of the divine or apostolical rite of confirmation; Together with The Divine or Apostolical Administrators of it; prov'd from Scripture and the Fathers of the Five First Centuries; or from several universally received Ecclesiastical Authors or Writers, both Antient and Modern; particularly those of the Calvinistical Persuasion. With full and clear Answers to all the material Objections that are generally raised against this Rite; and the indispensably necessary Obligation that all Persons lie under, viz. whether they be Pastors, Parents, Sponsors or Children, to discharge and fulfil their respective Trusts and Duties therein, as soon and as effectually as they conveniently can, that the Honour of God, the Edification of his Church, and the Peace and Safety of the present Establishment, both in Church and State, especially with respect to this Holy Institution, may be hence-forward restored, and preserv'd dentire and inviolable. Drawn up for the readier information and better preparation of the several parties concern'd therein, sometime before the Right Reverend Father in God, Samuel, Lord Bishop of Chester, his Primary Visitation of his Lordship's Diocese: By the unworthy author of the Divine or apostolical institution and power of jurisdiction of Bishops.
