Files, possibly assembled by Hare as a preliminary to writing his autobiography (see below, A.21-25). They include original documents (correspondence, some of it with scientific colleagues, photographs, watercolour sketches, certificates, publications, ephemera, etc), photocopies and material of a later date inserted where appropriate. There are annotations of a later date, and what appear to be preliminary manuscript and typescript notes for autobiography.

Certain of the bulkier files have been broken up for convenience of handling.

Names of correspondents have been incorporated into the hard-copy Index.
