About this work

Description

Correspondence regarding a visit to the University of Hawaii, 3-17 February, 1973, to deliver one lecture and two seminars.

On 22 December, 1972, Crick wrote to Dr John Hunt: "I don't know quite what you would like to do about the titles of the talks. I am especially worried about what to say in the public lecture, which you suggested should be on a general topic to be understood by the medical men. Do you think a very general lecture pointing out that the chromosomes of higher organisms are not the same as E. coli would be of interest? If so, I would propose that one of the two specialized seminars be a more detailed treatment of chromosome structure, dealing perhaps with what methods might be used to solve the problem. The second specialized seminar might be on Positional Information which deals with how cells know whether they are in a tissue."
