Photograph of two images from Hutchinson, Walter: Customs of the world : a popular account of the manners, rites and ceremonies of men and women in all countries, London: Hutchinson, 1913. The image on the left shows a woman with a lip disc and many earrings from the Jur people, Eastern Bahr-el-Ghazal (Sudan). The image on the rights shows a woman with lip and nose pierced. She wears a species of grass in the holes and is from the Moru people, South east Bahr-el Ghazal (Sudan).
