Biographical note
The Emergency Medical Service centre was at 19 Newport Road, where it remained from 1946, until 1953, when it moved to a former American Army Site at Rydlarfar. Extensions took place over the years to accommodate expansion service. From 1994 this became the HQ of National Blood Transfusion Service Wales.
