Photograph of a cast of a Roman bronze artificial leg fastened to a wooden core, shown from the front and side. The original leg was excavated from a tomb near Capua and held by the Royal College of Surgeons but destroyed between 1939-1945. This item was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum (R5298/1936) but is not held by Wellcome Collection.
