BSE Inquiry

The BSE Inquiry reviewed the history of the emergence and identification of BSE and CJD in the United Kingdom to address public concern and assess whether the actions taken by the Government during the epidemic were sufficient.

The Inquiry was set up on 12th January 1998, and the subsequent Phillips Report was published on 26th October 2000.

Material comprises of evidence for the Inquiry, including minutes of Spongiform Encephalopathy Advisory Committee, statements, and related correspondence.
