Bound Programmes and Abstracts

Arrangements were made for titles of papers presented to the Society to be published in Archives of Disease in Childhood, but the increasing number of meetings and of papers presented made the Journal reluctant to continue to provide space for them and negotiations in 1978 led to the suspension of the arrangement. In 1979, the Journal agreed to publish abstracts, but new editors in 1980 discontinued the practice. Attempts were made to find another publisher, and abstracts were published in Biology of the Neonate 1983-1984, and in Early Human Development 1986-1987.

The Society began to produce the programmes of its meetings bound with abstracts of papers presented, starting with their first overseas meeting, the joint meeting with the Swedish Neonatal Society in May 1986. The binder for the Spring meeting always includes minutes of the previous year's AGM.
