About this work

Description

A detailed report (signed copy in the hand of T A Henry) on a serious fire at 6 King Street, "in the wet vault". Burn injuries sustained by Leslie Edmund Barnett, "who acts as a steward of the laboratories".

Henry's report stresses the inappropriateness of the premises for laboratory work (e.g. the wet vault is "the only place in which inflammable solvents can be stored" but "is only a few yards away from the gas-fired boilers of the heating system").
