Correspondence regarding the Government Green Paper 'A Framework for Government Research and Development', which includes a Report by Lord Rothschild, 'The Organisation and Management of Government R and D' (1971). The file includes both Green and White Papers (Cmnd 4814 and Cmnd 5046), a Memorandum in response by the Council of the Royal Society (February, 1972), 'Universities and Productivity' (Universities Conference Background Papers, Spring 1968), and responses to the Rothschild Report from the British Pharmacological Society, the Physiological Society and the Agricultural Research Council.
