Sancta Sophai (Marsilius de)/de Pulsibus. ALBERTI (Bernardus). Super prima Fen quarti Canonis. JACOBUS de Prato. Scientia manuallis. Written by Bartholomaeus Cynthius de Pesaro. Written in double column of 31-33 lines to a column, in a narrow sloped semi-current humanistic hand. Large initial F in gold on a decorated blue ground on fol. 1, initial I in gold on fol. 121; initial in brouwn on fol. 151. Headings in red, with blank spaces for initials. The second work has signatures in red (A-C10).

1 volume 176 ll. folio. 33 x 23 1/2 cm. 18th century half vellum binding. Only a small piece of the last leaf remains.

Purchased 1923.

Biographical note

On fol. 162 in the 'Capitulum de Essera' there is a gap, and a note below 'hic est deffectus qwuia erat in Exemplario'. The second work was printed with the 'Consilia' of Antonius Cermisonus at Venice c. 1490, and assigned to Gentilis de Fulgineo. [G.K.W. 6575.] The last work is summarized in Sudhoff's 'Beiträge zur Geschichte der Chirurgie im Mittelalter', 1918, Vol. 2 pp. 425-428. Signature of Alessandro Padoani in teh lower margin of fol. 1.
