About this work

Description

Correspondence and memoranda.

Includes a memorandum (16 November, 1945) from Hartley, TRC Secretary raising the question of collaboration: "It is known that at least four of the TRC member-companies are now actively studying the biological production of Streptomycin but that so far as is known such studies are taking place entirely independently of each other and with no exchange of information as to difficulties encountered or solutions attempted whether successful or unsuccessful. Such a position of course, accords with the decision of the Research Panel Exercutive taken in execution of the Board's decisions in July 1945 as to future activities of TRC ... No consideration has however, been given, either by the Board or by the Reseach Panel Executive, to possible work on the chemistry of Streptomycin" (p.2).
