About this work
Description
Letter from explorer Sherard Osborn to Galton declining an invitation. Osborn states that he hopes to see Galton soon and to thank him as a friend of "poor Speke" who Galton defended from some "unfair criticisms of his labours by Burton some time ago". Presumably a reference to explorer John Hanning Speke's rift with Richard Burton.
