Description

Two images on one negative: the first is of a cylinder seal made of ivory. It was purchased at auction in 1930 by the Wellcome Historical Medical Musuem and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R2373/1938). It was exhibited in the Museum as part of a display of Assyrian and Babylonian cylinders. Related images: M0011143. The second is of a cylinder seal made of haematite. It was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R523/1937). Neither item is held by Wellcome Collection.
