    Standing BY-LAWS OF THE CORPORATION OF THE Governors of the Foundling Hofpital and TFork-houfe. WHEREAS it is abfolutely neceflary for maintaining the good Police of the Hof¬ pital, that there be a proper Subordination of Offi¬ cers and Servants, and that one Perfon fhould be appointed as Superintendant, with Authority to infped and report the Con dud of all the other Officers (except the Chaplain) and Servants: — And the Treafurer, from the great Trufl repofed in him, the ample Security given by him, and the large Salery allowed him, being the proper Officer for that Purpofe, Resolved, I.
