Reproduction of two photographs the eleusine plant associated with amatangi medicine. One photograph shows the plant growing and the other shows a pile of the leaves left to dry. The photographs are published as plate XXX in Evans-Pritchard, E. E: <i>Witchcraft, Oracles and Magic Among the Azande</i>, Oxford, The Clarendon Press, 1937. The Azande are an ethnic group of North Central Africa. Photographs of the book plate were acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1938 (accession number PHO 10958 and PHO 10959).
